The Web Hosting Process Explained
REserve your domain name
A domain name is your address on the internet.
Choosing your domain name is an important decision – if its memorable it will strengthen your brand and make your business easily discoverable.
Custom domain names seem more professional than a website using a free version eg yourbusiness.somewebsite.com – the same is applicable to your email address.
Relevant keywords in your domain will also contribute to your SEO and improve its ranking with search engines.
Options
Gone are the days when one only had the option of .co.za or .com – these days you can add various extensions to better explain the nature of your business. Options like .store, .art or even .me are available.
Domain Name Registration and Annual Renewal Fee
.co.za – R110

Your Registration Fee will reserve your Domain for a year. Thereafter your Domain will renew on its birthday, incurring an annual fee. I will remind you of your Renewal to ensure it is processed timeously and your Domain remains your own.
Different extensions do have different fees – ask me about the dozens of available options. I will then provide a list of available domain names based on the criteria we discuss.
Once you have picked your domain name, I will register the domain, set up your hosting and create your email accounts.
